It was an incredibly busy weekend, but I had a blast! Our lead pastor, Bryan Mills was put on voice rest by his voice specialist last Thursday until he could see his regular doctor this week. With that being said (no pun intended!), Bryan asked me to step up and teach the message this weekend. First of all, I appreciate the opportunity, and second, God always speaks to me in a powerful way on the weekends I teach, and this weekend was no exception.We are in a four part series called "Mind Your Own Business 2," and today I talked about how to tackle debt. So many people in this world are burdened and shackled by debt that has accumulated over time. They worry about their finances and many feel lost and helpless. I feel very passionate about this subject because I too have been in that same position, but God has given me and my family a new vision for our finances and I AM PUMPED! It is so freeing to finally have a "plan" for our money - telling it where to go instead of wondering where it went!
We have a long way to go, but there is LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL! I pray that those who are finding themselves slaves to the lender will be able to break free and find God's vision for their finances. Can you imagine an entire church totally debt free, ready and willing to say YES to anything and everything God asks them to do? IT CAN HAPPEN!

So many churches shy away from talking about money, but thankfully WE'RE DETERMINED to help people find God's vision for their finances. We've experienced incredible growth the past two weeks because people really want to know what the Bible says about money. It's time for the church to take a stand and help people experience the freedom God designed for each and every one of us.
We're learning to say "NO" for a little while, so we can say "YES" to God for the REST OF OUR LIVES!!

You did an awesome job this weekend. Thanks for stepping up and nailing it with such short notice. God definitely had a lot to say to everyone, and He definitely had the right plan for how the weekend would fall into place. I will always owe a debt of gratitude to the MYOB series . . . and the followup MYOB2 series . . . for the direction it has given me for my life and finances. I can't imagine where we would be right now had we not decided last year to do what we had learned a year earlier. When we finally got a vision (which changed mid-stream) and both agreed to do whatever it took to see it happen, we were amazed at what happened with our debt. We're still not there yet, either, but we see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Thank you for allowing God to use you this weekend. You did a great job and it helped a lot people. Thanks for answering when God called.. Heres to a debt free church.
