Here are a few scriptures that I found helpful:
When you talk, do not say harmful things, but say what people need—words that will help others become stronger. Then what you say will do good to those who listen to you.
Ephesians 4:29 (NCV)
Put away perversity from your mouth;
keep corrupt talk far from your lips.
Proverbs 4:24 (NIV)
Don't shoot off your mouth, or speak before you think.
Ecclesiastes 5:2a (Msg)
Ephesians 4:29 (NCV)
Put away perversity from your mouth;
keep corrupt talk far from your lips.
Proverbs 4:24 (NIV)
Don't shoot off your mouth, or speak before you think.
Ecclesiastes 5:2a (Msg)
Does anyone else struggle with this? What are some strategies you have used in those situations?

Well.....you KNOW that you are not alone.....at least, there is one more like that....ME! Myself.....I've never "cured" that part of me....I just accept it as me.....feel badly about it later(SOMETIMES)....and have a glass of dark red medicine! It's good for lots of health problems....
I can be a very reactionary person at times as well. My temper is something I am definately working on. The only thing that helps me is that I am giving it to God. When I feel the anger rising, I try to just stop and give it to God. It works when I give it up, The problem is giving it up.
I have difficulty when I drive. Some call it road rage. Driving through St. Louis last weekend was definitely a test for me.
You dont have difficulty...everyone i know has difficulty including myself. Its human nature. The thing that separates us from the animals is the fact that we can identify that we are verbally unaccountable sometimes. If everyone was tight lipped...this would be a boring place...so shout expletives from the mountain tops..
